River Rafting — FAQs

Everything travellers ask before booking a river rafting.

Do I need to know swimming for river rafting?

No. All participants wear a Grade 5 life jacket and helmet. Non-swimmers can raft.

What is the minimum age for river rafting?

12 years for Kolad / Kundalika. 14 for Rishikesh & Teesta. 18 for Grade IV runs.

Which rapids do we cross?

Kolad has 5+ Grade III rapids over 14 km. Rishikesh has Grade III–IV. Dandeli is Grade II–III.

What is the best month for Kolad rafting?

June to September — Kolad river only opens for public rafting during Kundalika dam release.

Do you provide waterproof gear?

Life jacket, helmet and paddle. Bring your own quick-dry clothes and a change of dry clothes.

Is it safe if I have back or knee issues?

Grade II–III is generally safe. Please declare pre-existing conditions during booking — we recommend consulting your doctor.
