Frequently Asked Questions

Himalaya Trek — FAQs

Everything travellers ask before booking a himalaya trek.

Which is the best beginner-friendly Himalayan trek?

Hampta Pass and Kedarkantha are ideal first Himalayan treks — 5-6 day duration, moderate grade, spectacular alpine views.

What is AMS and how do we prevent it?

Acute Mountain Sickness. Prevention: gradual altitude gain, hydration (4 L/day), light meals, and Diamox on doctor's advice.

What is the best time for Himalayan treks?

May–June (spring blossoms) and September–October (clear views). Kedarkantha runs December–March for snow.

Do I need mountaineering experience?

For treks below 15,000 ft — no. For expeditions like Roopkund or Chadar — basic fitness and prior trekking experience recommended.

What is the fitness expectation?

Ability to walk 8-10 km with a light backpack, do 30-min cardio (running/cycling) comfortably. Start prep 6 weeks prior.

Are there network / phone signals on the trail?

Limited. BSNL works in many base villages. Above 12,000 ft — no signal. We carry sat comms on remote routes.
