About Mumbai Trekizens
From a Sunday hike to a nation-wide adventure company
Mumbai Trekizens started in 2015 with a small group of friends who met every Sunday to escape the city — first with a rucksack and a rough Google map, then with logbooks, first-aid kits, and eventually a licensed operating company. Today, we're a team of certified trek leaders, mountaineering instructors, wildlife naturalists and logistics pros running over 500 group departures a year across India.
What began as an obsession with the Sahyadris has grown into a curated portfolio of over 120 destinations across 12 states — from monsoon jungles in Konkan to alpine passes in Ladakh — but the founding principle has not changed: get more people outside, safely, joyfully, and often.
Our Mission
Adventure travel in India has historically been fragmented, unregulated and often unsafe. Our mission is to change that — by building an outdoor company that treats safety, small groups, and honest pricing as non-negotiables, and pushes the ceiling on customer experience.
What We Do Differently
- Small groups only. Maximum 20 people per trek leader for weekend departures; 12 for high-altitude expeditions. Always.
- Certified guides. Every trek leader is either IMF-affiliated or certified by ABVIMAS / NIM. Non-negotiable.
- Documented safety. Standardised SOPs for weather, medical, evacuation, and communication. Reviewed quarterly.
- Transparent pricing. No 'starting from' games. What you see is what you pay — no hidden fees.
- Community-first. We prefer local homestays, local cooks, local guides — 70%+ of our on-ground spend stays in the destination.
- Fair cancellations. Read our refund policy. It's fair, and it's the same for everyone.
By The Numbers
The Founders' Note
“We started this because we couldn't find an adventure company that treated its customers like grown-ups. Ten years in, we still measure success one departure at a time. Thank you for trusting us with your weekends, your firsts, and — increasingly — your family adventures.”
